The Role

We are looking for a talented AI/ML Engineer to join our core engineering team. You will be at the heart of our technology, designing and building the machine learning systems that power our compliance screening platform. From entity resolution and fuzzy matching to risk scoring and anomaly detection, you'll work on challenging problems that have real-world impact in the fight against financial crime. This role requires someone who thrives at the intersection of research and production — you'll need to stay current with the latest advances in NLP, LLMs, and information retrieval while shipping robust, scalable solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Model Development: Design, train, and deploy machine learning models for entity matching, risk scoring, adverse media classification, and natural language understanding.
• LLM Integration: Build and optimize pipelines leveraging Large Language Models for intelligent document analysis, summarization, and reasoning over complex compliance data.
• Entity Resolution: Develop advanced fuzzy matching and entity disambiguation algorithms to accurately link individuals and companies across global sanctions lists and databases.
• Search & Retrieval: Improve our semantic search and information retrieval systems to surface relevant risk signals from unstructured data sources.
• Production ML Systems: Build scalable, reliable ML infrastructure — from feature pipelines to model serving — ensuring low latency and high availability.
• Evaluation & Monitoring: Establish rigorous evaluation frameworks and monitoring systems to measure model performance, detect drift, and continuously improve accuracy.
• Collaboration: Work closely with compliance analysts to understand domain requirements and translate them into effective AI solutions.

Your Profile

You are a compliance professional who is tired of outdated, manual processes. You have an "investigator mindset" and a genuine enthusiasm for how technology can solve complex problems.

• A Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience building and deploying ML models in production environments.
• Strong proficiency in Python and ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, or similar).
• Hands-on experience with NLP techniques: transformers, embeddings, named entity recognition, text classification.
• Experience working with LLMs (fine-tuning, prompt engineering, RAG architectures).
• Solid understanding of information retrieval, search systems, and vector databases.
• Experience with ML infrastructure: feature stores, model serving, experiment tracking (MLflow, Weights & Biases, etc.).
• Fluency in English is mandatory.

Nice to Have

• Experience in financial services, compliance, or fraud detection domains.
• Knowledge of graph neural networks or knowledge graph techniques.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Publications or contributions to open-source ML projects.
• Proficiency in French or German.
